While developing a bespoke fulfillment solution for Historic Newspapers, we hit a wall: Shopify offered no clean way to snapshot complex SKUs and restore them elsewhere.

Does it touch orders or customers?
No. Only product data is processed and stored.

A zip file is generated for download at the end of the export. You’re free to store it however you like. The schema data used to create the zip is securely retained on our servers for up to 1 hour.
